Which casket?

My friend Leona moved on to the next chapter in her journey last week. She was emotionally ready for the end of this life, I know, she told me she was ready and her time was near.

When I spoke with her son about the funeral and arrangements he told me a Leona story that made me smile.

“Teri, did Mom tell you about the casket?”  Bill asked.
“No what did she do?” I said with a smile on my face.
“When we contacted the funeral home to tell them Mom had passed they told us she had been in last year and the casket she selected was ready.” Bill said.

It was just like Leona to get everything lined up for the important matters in life.  Apparently, the day she went to the funeral home she was in her usual good mood.  She looked at the choices of caskets  and when  she found the one she wanted she told the two men helping her, “OK boys give me a boost, I need to be sure this is the place I want to be resting for eternity.”   The associates from the funeral home helped her in to the casket and Leona deemed, “This will do just fine.”

Rest in peace and comfort my friend,

God Bless,
