Zipping through the trees.

I give zip lining two thumbs up!!  Woo Hoo!!

Harley and I were in Copperhill Tennessee to try the fun and beauty of zipping through the tree tops strapped in a harness.

It is actually a very safe process as long as the cable itself doesn’t break; we were connected by three independent tethers as a fail safe.  The harness we were in had two cables attached to our vest and the zip guide itself was also attached to the zip line.

As we soared through the tops of the trees from station to station we were having the best time.  We had a group of nine and one of the young ladies was celebrating her twelfth birthday.

I love going fast!!  Our safety instructor told me if you lean back and crunch up in a ball as you zip to the next station you will go faster.  Then he said the heavier you are the faster you go.  I tried to find something heavy to put in my pockets but nothing was available.  The yogini in me crunched my knees to my chest and let her rip.

We got a pinwheel to take with us, like Maxwell the pig on the GEICO commercials we thought that would be a fun video.  The only problem is you are required to hold on with both hands so we would have had to tape the pinwheel to us, now it didn’t seem fun anymore.

What is it about helmets that make my head itch?  Whenever I don any type of helmet my head starts to itch, it doesn’t matter what type of helmet motorcycle, zip lining, or bicycle helmet, which thankfully has slots in it so I can scratch when I need to.

The morning hours flew by as we zipped through the trees listening to the history of the now silent copper mines, enjoying the view and new experience with my sweetie.

God Bless,
