Your trunk lid is open.

The drive home yesterday was rainy making the visibility a bit lower than usual; I was driving along singing when the phone rings.  I am still not used to the car commandeering the sound system and turning off the music so I can answer the phone.

Donnaree:  What’s up with the trunk lid flopping open?
Me: What?
Donnaree:  Your Trunk lid is flopping open can’t you see it?
Me: Rats

Have you ever been driving down the road and seen someone with their trunk deck lid flopping up and down?  I never have, but last evening it happened to Donnaree our shipper here at the Co-op.  She was driving down the road and saw a car just like mine with the trunk lid flopping around.

Then she thought no that is Teri’s car, and it was.

I have always had plain keys with my other cars, not keys with buttons, and I seem to open my trunk at the most inopportune times with this push button entry.

Thank goodness I wasn’t on the ramp to the interstate that would have been a crazy mess.  I stopped at the first gas station, scratching my head, I got out in the pouring rain,  closed the trunk and headed for home.

When I told Harley what happened he asked me, “Isn’t there a light to indicate the trunk is open?”  I said, “Yes, but I had a reminder sticky note on the dash covering the indicator light.”  Now I have to find a new place to post my reminders.

Thank you Donnaree, it seems someone needs to look out for me.

God Bless,
