Memory or Haste?

As I have gotten closer to 60 than 50 I have noticed a delay, at times, in remembering seemingly insignificant things.   Like the sunglasses I am looking for are on my head, or where I left my keys, or did I remember to take my vitamins.

Just last week another issue came up.  I don’t know if I was just in a hurry or something else was going on.  For now I am going with being in a hurry, I will let you decide.

One of the great technology break troughs for me, keep in mind I am not surfing the crest of the technology wave, is online bill pay through my bank.  I delight in not having to write checks, stuff envelopes, or take the envelopes to the mail box.   I have had very good success with online banking until now.  The problem was not with the bank the problem was between the chair and the keyboard.

We have a garbage service named Hooper’s and I am paying for a Honda, in the bill pay list they are right next to each other.  I got a call on Friday from Hooper’s, yep you guessed it, I sent my car payment to them. The bookkeeper at Hooper’s was wondering if I was really paying for pickup service two years in advance.

What did I learn?  I found out that the people at Honda give you a ten day grace period, the people at Hooper’s are honest and kind, and I should check the transactions more closely before I hit the send key, a nice series of lessons all around.

God Bless,
