The Wasp was doing the backstroke.

I got to work early this morning.  When I went to use the ladies room I noticed there was a wasp doing the backstroke in the toilet.

My first thought was to flush him down and be done with him.  Then I thought about the teachings of ahimsa which gives a voice to non-violence to all, including bugs that might bite back.

I don’t know how long he had been swimming.  I got a paper towel for him to grab on and whisked him out the door into the garden to catch his breath and be off on this day’s journey.

Was that just silly behavior?  I bet the wasp didn’t think so.  For me, it gave me a moment to pause and think about what was right in my mind.  I admit I am usually on autopilot and do the habitual act.  Today I didn’t do that and feel a tiny bit lighter.

I wonder what I can save next.
