Dirty Blonde, problem solved.

As the years have gone by my blonde hair has gotten, well, dirty blonde which I just don’t like.

My efforts with lemon juice and Sun-In were not as successful or convenient as I would have liked.  Then I found Loreal le Petite Frost, very economical. That’s the good news, getting it applied is not as easy as they indicate on the box.

On one particular trip to the cabin I decided to try to do the coloring myself.  I put the cap on and started pulling the hair through the cap with the little hook that is included.  This task is not so easy to do by yourself  I was struggling to get a few strands out of the holes feeling very frustrated when Harley came looking for me.  Sort of like the child that is quiet for too long, tee hee.  When he found me he laughed and said I looked like I had a bad case of mange, nice honey.

He volunteered to pull the strands of hair through the cap.  I figured if he can build a house he could pull a few strands of hair thorough the cap.  I loved the color when he was done and was really excited thinking I have found my new colorist.  After the first time he really wasn't interested in doing it again, rats.

I am actually not so sure I was having fun as much as I was enjoying saving $60.00.  When I go to the beauty shop they seem to get just about the same results as I get with the kit, at least as far as I can tell, it looks the same to me.  I just can’t justify that extra cost every two or three months, although I do like the conversation, shampoo, and pampering I get while I am there.  I agree there is value to these things but I would rather spring for a massage than color my hair in the salon.

Now, for the really good news.  Donnaree is happy to come and help me pull the strands through the cap and she is really fast.  Three cheers for Donnaree, it is so nice to have friends that live close by.
