How well are you breathing? Three tips.

I was speaking to a gentleman with breathing issues he had diminished lung capacity for various reasons.

I asked him if he did breathing exercises he didn’t, I asked if he had been warned by his doctor not to do exercises, he said no.  I asked him if he thought they would help.  He thought they would and asked where I was going with my questions.

Well, let me tell you, I have been studying for my yoga teaching certificate, ayurvedya is a sister science to yoga and we have learned some very interesting things about the body.

We have been chanting and OMing, go ahead and smile, the first time we chanted for 30 minutes I was winded.  OK, most people don’t chant or OM especially for half an hour at a time.  My caller on the other hand thought it sounded like a great idea so I am supposing I must be selective when choosing the audience for this information.

  1. Repetitive deep breathing over time will increase your lung capacity.
  2. Chanting or OM have a soothing vibration much like a cat purring that will increase peace of mind and centering.
  3. Deep inhales and exhales clean toxins from your blood and increase circulation cleansing your blood supply.
  4. Really cool people OM and chant ask me I am associated with a bunch of cool OMers and chanters.

Seriously, if you have had any experience with this sort of exercise I would be very interested to hear from you.  I speak to so many people each day with a variety of problems I love to share the information so they can make informed decisions.  It is all about getting the word out and causing no harm.
