The Art of Positive Thinking

The art of positive thinking is no accident effort is
required.  Research tells us repetition is how we learn newhabits.

If you are down in the dumps, feeling out of sorts, cranky for no reason, don’t like your life’s circumstances, lost your best friend, need a job, joints hurt, bad haircut, chronic indigestion, don’t like your neighbor, air conditioning went on the fritz, had cross words with your kids, a cure to lessen the anguish and pain may be as easy as changing your thinking.

Know that all the things that are so difficult today will change. Put energy into making them change for the better, laugh, read a book, help a friend or neighbor, service always makes the giver of the service feel better sometimes even better than the person you are helping, go for a walk, pick some flowers, for some people prayer is a powerful motivation to help change the way they are thinking to a more positive state.

Sometimes the pain we hold on to is created by change, which comes from fear.  Fear of losing what we already have or fear of not getting something we want.  Be in this very moment right now it is likely you have everything you need.

Plan for change it's coming, be prepared to roll with whatever the change may be, open your eyes look around, don’t let life blindside you.  The answer seems to be the less attached we are the easier it is to go with the flow.

The key for Happiness is Friendliness
The key for Unhappiness is Compassion
The key for Virtue is Delight
The key for Non Virtue is Equanimity

Allow your focus to dwell on what you want not on what you don’t want.  Lingering in negative thoughts will create more negative thoughts.  Take a moment to linger in a positive thought, the beauty of the sun, a fresh piece of fruit, homemade soup, a killer piece of dark chocolate, or a smile from a someone you don't know if you can’t find one of these joys call a friend and ask them to share one of their positive thoughts.  That is what friends do.

We all deserve to be happy, make a decision to take responsibility for your thoughts, your life will change.

God Bless,
