Merry Christmas Kathryn

I have customers and over the years we have become friends.  When I don’t hear from them in a long time I begin to wonder are they alright.

This happened some months ago with my buddy Harris.  Bless his heart he is not the most technical guy and I could not get him via email or phone, I was concerned.  So, I sent him a where are you letter.  One day I answered the phone and it was Harris laughing hysterically, he was thrilled I would be so concerned about him I would go to all the trouble to get in touch with him..

I heard from Harris yesterday.  He called to check in after all it had been a couple of months and he didn’t want me to be worried.  I got a quick update, we wished each other a Merry Christmas, and he was off doing important senior citizen stuff.

Harris’s call got me wondering about Kathryn so I gave her a call.  Her sweet husband Harry had passed since we last spoke, I knew he was not well but did not know he had gone home.  Kathryn seems to be doing well but after 62 years she is trying to adjust.

She reminised about how she and Harry had raised their family in the tiny home she still lives in. She told me of times when everyone was young, bringing friends home, and  the house was ready to burst at the seams. When the children left to start lives of their own the house was perfect for her and Harry.  Now that she is alone and trying to adjust it seems the house will still be just right for her and now her painting.

I believe Kathryn will do fine as she starts this new phase of her life.  She has her painting, family close by, and was baking Christmas cookies when I interrupted her this afternoon.  When we hung up I know she had a smile on her face, me too.

Merry Christmas,
