Eat more greens, please....

I love my VitaMixer!

I was in a quandary on how to add more greens to my daily intake. It seems the older I get in order to age gracefully I must pay attention to my diet. I needed more greens, but really folks how many greens can one eat?

I had heard about the Vitamixer and seen a very persuasive demonstration at Hippocrates Institute on raw food diets but nixed the purchase because of price. Now that I was focusing on adding more greens to my diet, and what marketing I had seen on Vitamix website I made the purchase with a months free trial plus they would pay to return it if I decided it wasn’t right for me. I have pleasantly found the Vitamixer to be an investment in my taste buds.

Every day I make a delectable green drink, some people think it looks awful, but I love it and take it to work in my thermos. The shake has loads of fiber which keeps me feeling full, organic greens which are nutrients rich, plus water which I just don’t drink enough of.

This is the recipe I have been using, 1 cup water, 4 stalks of celery, 2 cups of mixed greens, 2 cups of romaine lettuce all organic and some vegetable tofu for protein, a bit of flavor like cinnamon, nutmeg, or a bit of stevia, 2 cups ice, blend until smooth and I am ready to go.

This green drink is a great cure for my mid morning hunger cravings and the other half I save for the mid afternoon hunger pangs. The mixer makes all the difference, its magic, a red VitaMix 5200, Christmas is coming if you don’t know what to ask Santa for…
